Andersen A2 installation
A home EV charger with a concealed cable and plug, a choice of metal or timber finishes, and up to 8.5m of cable reach.
The Andersen A2 keeps its Type 2 cable attached and ready to use. When you finish charging, wind the cable back into the unit and return the plug to its compartment. Once closed, the front of the charger is all you see.
Choose the 7kW A2 for single-phase charging with a 5.5m or 8.5m cable. If you have a suitable three-phase supply and a car that accepts faster AC charging, the 22kW A2 comes with a 6.5m cable.
Elecology completes a free desktop survey of your property. We’ll check which cable reaches your car, agree the installation route and confirm your chosen finish in a tailored, fixed-price quote before you book.

How much does Andersen A2 installation cost?
Your installed price depends on the A2 you choose and the work needed to connect it at your property. Our free desktop survey gives you one fixed price for the agreed charger, equipment and installation before you book.
What affects the installation price?
- Power rating. A 7kW single-phase installation and a 22kW three-phase installation have different electrical requirements.
- Cable and finish. Your cable length, body colour and choice of front panel determine the charger configuration.
- Installation cable route. We assess the distance from your electricity supply and how the cable can reach the A2.
- Monitoring and protection. Your quote includes the electrical equipment and monitoring connections agreed during the survey.
- Existing equipment. Tell us if you already own an A2 so we can quote for installing your unit.

Everyday charging with the Andersen A2
The right A2 is the one you can reach comfortably every day. Check where you park before deciding on the cable length or the wall where the charger will sit.
Use the hidden cable
Take out the Type 2 plug and unwind enough cable to reach the car. After charging, wind it back into the storage area and put the plug away. There’s no separate charging cable to fetch from the boot.
Choose between 5.5m and 8.5m on the 7kW A2
Measure from the proposed charger position to the car’s port, following the path the cable would actually take. The 8.5m option is useful if the port is on the far side of the car or two cars take turns using different parking spaces.
Plan charging around your electricity tariff
If your tariff has fixed off-peak hours, set a schedule to match. For the 7kW A2, Andersen lists direct integrations with Intelligent Octopus Go, OVO Charge Anytime and EDF GoElectric. Check your supplier’s eligibility and setup instructions.
Manage access from your phone
Use the Andersen app to check charging and lock the unit. This is useful if the charger is accessible from the pavement or a shared drive. Storing the plug keeps it out of sight; the app lock controls charging access.
Charging on a detached garage?
Check Wi-Fi coverage beside the garage wall and send us a photo showing the route from the house. Both the network connection and the electrical cable route are worth checking before you settle on the position.
Andersen A2 solar charging and home load balancing
If you want the car to charge from surplus solar, tell us before choosing your power rating. Andersen lists solar integration on the 7kW A2, and we’ll check the monitoring arrangement during your survey.
Use spare solar power on the 7kW model
When your car is plugged in during daylight, a compatible setup can use electricity your panels generate beyond what the house is using. The amount available changes as appliances switch on and solar output rises or falls.
Keep enough capacity for household appliances
The 7kW A2 is supplied with an Adaptive Fuse CT clamp. Once connected and configured, it monitors demand on your supply so the charger can reduce its draw when the house needs more power.
Check the fit for a three-phase home
Having a three-phase supply gives you a choice. If your car can accept 22kW AC and you need faster top-ups, we can assess the 22kW A2. If surplus solar or the 8.5m cable matters more, ask us to assess the 7kW version.
Plan around your home battery
A battery set to supply the house may also supply the car. If you want to keep stored electricity for the evening, tell us your battery and inverter models. We’ll assess the connection and identify any settings to check with your battery installer.
What to include in your survey
Send photos of the electricity meter, the space around your incoming supply and any solar or battery equipment. We’ll explain the monitoring connections and installation work included in your fixed-price quote.
