  • Each EV home charging point comes with unique features tailored for various properties and driving needs. Some notable features include, but are not limited to, LCD screens for charge point control, pin-code lock functions, smart charging capabilities, and in-built Open PEN fault detection. Some offered home EV chargers can also be controlled over a mobile or computer app to provide fine control over your EV’s charging. These features are generally designed to offer more EV home charging convenience, extend your EV’s battery life, and protect your property.

  • Charger speeds range from 7kWh to 22kW depending if your house has single or three phase power. Our team can assess the maximum charging rate during the survey process. Note that real-world charging speeds can vary depending on your EV’s state of charge, ambient temperatures, total battery capacity, onboard battery management systems, as well as the specific charging protocols used by your charging point system.

  • All the EV home charging points Elecology install are fully compatitble with all EVs. The vast majority of EVs have a Type 2 connector which is available for each home EV charger that we install. For added flexiblity we recommend an untethered charging point such as the Easee One or Ohme ePod.

  • Depending on the model, network connectivity options include WiFi, a built-in 3G/4G SIM card, and Ethernet, offering drivers convenient ways to set up and manage their EV home charging points.

  • Some of the EV home charging points come with mobile applications, allowing drivers to set charge schedules, monitor usage, and access other features remotely. Some, like the Ohme and myenergi zappi have controls on the devices themselves via an interactive screen.

  • Yes, most models feature home load balancing to prevent electrical overcapacity and ensure efficient power distribution. This feature is especially important if you plan on powering multiple EVs or if your home has other high-power electrical appliances.

  • Most EV home charging points come with a three-year warranty, providing peace of mind and support for an extended period.

  • Yes. Most of the EV home charging point systems on offer provide tethered cable charging with cable lengths ranging from 5m to 10m. The Ohme ePod and Easee One provide untethered universal sockets, giving you the option to use whichever cable length you need.

  • The myenergi zappi, Hypervolt, Simpson & Partners and the Andersen A2 charging points support integration with home solar generation solutions, providing a more sustainable and eco-friendly charging experience. While it may be technically possible to use some of the other offered chargers with solar panels or other renewable power generation solutions, it’s critical to get in touch with qualified EV charging experts to see if your property can support your desired charging system.
