Everyday charging with the myenergi zappi GLO
Plug in when you get home and manage charging through the myenergi app. LED lighting shows the charger’s status, while RFID access control lets you authorise charging with a registered card or tag.
Choose tethered or untethered charging
The tethered zappi GLO has an attached 6.5m Type 2 cable, ready to plug into your car.
The untethered version has a Type 2 socket for a separate charging cable, which you can disconnect and store after charging. Both versions offer the same core smart charging features.
Schedule cheaper overnight charging
Use the myenergi app to schedule charging around your electricity tariff’s off-peak hours. Leave your car plugged in, ready for the scheduled charging window.
If your energy supplier manages charging through a supported smart tariff, follow its setup instructions and avoid conflicting schedules in your car or charger.
Choose smart or immediate charging
Enable Smart Charging to use scheduled and solar-aware charging with the appropriate setup.
Switch Smart Charging off when you want to charge immediately, subject to access settings and the available power. GLO uses this simplified control rather than the original zappi’s FAST, ECO and ECO+ interface.
Manage charging from your phone
Use the myenergi app to check charging activity, view energy information and manage your settings.
GLO’s screen-free design uses LED status lighting at the charger, with detailed information available in the app.
Connection check
Zappi GLO needs its own Wi-Fi connection for firmware updates. It cannot receive those updates through another myenergi device over the local radio network. We’ll discuss Wi-Fi coverage at your proposed charger position during the desktop survey.
myenergi zappi GLO solar charging and home load balancing
With the appropriate monitoring setup, zappi GLO can use surplus solar electricity to charge your car and adjust charging demand to suit your home’s electrical supply. These features are available on both tethered and untethered versions.
Use surplus solar electricity
Enable Smart Charging to make use of surplus solar generation with a compatible installation. CT monitoring helps the system identify electricity available after your household’s demand.
The energy available for your car changes with sunshine and household electricity use. Solar charging therefore depends on your generation, monitoring setup and selected settings.
Combine solar with scheduled charging
Use available solar during the day and scheduled charging when you need additional energy. You can plan charging around your tariff’s off-peak hours.
Scheduled charging can use grid electricity. Review your settings so they match your charging needs and electricity prices.
Manage your home’s electricity demand
CT monitoring measures electricity flowing through your supply. Zappi GLO uses this information to adjust charging demand within the configured supply limit.
We’ll assess the monitoring requirements and connection route during your desktop survey and include the agreed equipment in your quote.
Plan charging around your home battery
Your home battery may supply electricity to your car while it charges. Solar integration does not automatically prevent battery discharge.
Tell us your battery and inverter models so we can assess the installation arrangement. Your battery installer may also need to advise on settings to preserve stored energy for household use.
Tell us about your home energy setup
Include details of your solar panels, inverter, battery and any existing myenergi devices with your desktop survey. We’ll identify the monitoring and connections needed and explain what is included in your fixed-price quote.
